Equine therapy programme for children with ASD in Baix Llobregat
With ISTEA Association

For the third consecutive year, we are funding this project in collaboration with the ISTEA Association, which was created and endorsed by a group of psychologists specialising in ASD who voluntarily work with the organisation. Our role is to support the growing demand from families with children diagnosed with ASD, promoting awareness and participation. This programme will be carried out during the 2022–2023 school year and will include 850 equine-assisted therapy sessions with recreational activities that foster the integration of the children. The aim is to equip them with tools that support positive development. This year, 50 children aged between 4 and 18 with autism spectrum disorder will benefit from the initiative. Many families with young people affected by this type of disorder live in precarious conditions and lack the necessary resources to provide them with specialised education.

Providing food for the solidarity economato in Barcelona
With Roure Foundation

The year 2022 was particularly difficult, as inflation gave rise to a new form of poverty. During this period, there was a notable increase in referrals from Social Services and organisations working with vulnerable groups, with demand rising by 18% compared to normal conditions. Social Services continue to struggle to meet the need for food donations due to the high number of families living in precarious situations, including single-parent households and families where both parents are unemployed or without work. Roure Foundation is an organisation rooted in the old town of Barcelona that addresses the basic needs of the elderly and families. It provides personalised, comprehensive care to help them become self-sufficient. This year, for the fifth time, we are once again supporting this effort by funding the purchase of dairy products to ensure the continuation of the Solidarity Grocery Programme, benefitting 400 children aged 0 to 16.

Social support for children from single-mother families in Barcelona
With Teresa Gallifa Foundation

Forty-nine per cent of single-mother families struggle to make ends meet, and this percentage increases when there is more than one child. Some women come from situations of violence and require comprehensive support, including legal advice and emotional counselling, and are unable to afford basic necessities such as nappies, clothing or infant formula. For the third consecutive year, we are once again supporting the social inclusion of pregnant women and single mothers, so they can experience motherhood with the support they need. The basic needs of 55 children under the age of five in situations of extreme vulnerability will be covered. The support includes infant formula, cereals and purées, nappies, hygiene products, and vaccines not covered by the public health system but recommended by the Spanish Paediatric Association.

Support for Ukrainian Refugees at the Border
With Educo Foundation

The ongoing war highlights the urgent need to support all vulnerable children and reminds us of what truly matters: a simple act of kindness, love, and a helping hand is all they need. The Nuria García Foundation has partnered with the Educo Foundation to support Ukrainian families in refugee camps along the border and in besieged cities. Through this project, the Nuria García Foundation funded the supply of food, medicine, and essential goods, as well as the provision of psychological first aid for children, and support with the organisation of evacuations from facilities such as hospitals and children’s homes.
