Nutrition and education for shepherd children in Kenya
With Africa Digna Foundation

We have been working with the África Digna Foundation for the past seven years on a programme that promotes a dignified life for child herders from the Samburu community in northern Kenya, providing them with access to education and adequate nutrition.

The project offers two hours of tailored education each day, alongside a balanced meal, to children aged between 6 and 16 who, due to their cultural context, spend much of their time herding livestock and are therefore unable to access the formal education system.

During this period, we support the operation of three educational centres in **Lodokume, Lowa and Lulu**, directly benefiting 110 children. In addition, the programme encourages educational continuity and creates new opportunities for the future, enabling some pupils to subsequently enrol in primary school.

Menstrual hygiene project for Samburu girl in Kenya
With Africa Digna Foundation

We continue our collaboration with the África Digna Foundation through a programme that promotes access to dignified menstrual hygiene for girls and young women from the Samburu community in northern Kenya.

Limited access to resources and a lack of information about menstrual health contribute to school absenteeism and restrict the development opportunities of many girls, while also perpetuating social and cultural stigma. To address this reality, the project combines the distribution of reusable menstrual hygiene kits with educational workshops and awareness-raising activities aimed at girls, communities and schools.

During the 2025–2026 period, the programme will benefit 358 girls, expanding its reach to new communities and strengthening menstrual health education. In addition, it supports the training of local facilitators and encourages the involvement of schools and health centres, with the aim of ensuring the project’s long-term continuity and sustainability.

Food and nutrition at Kikaya House in Uganda
With Babies Uganda Association

After four years of collaboration, in 2025 we concluded our support for the nutrition and feeding programme carried out in partnership with Babies Uganda Association at Kikaya House, a home that provides care for children who have been abandoned, orphaned or are living in situations of extreme vulnerability.

Through this initiative, the full nutritional needs of 32 resident children were met, alongside support for the seven caregivers and staff members responsible for their daily care, ensuring adequate nutrition within a safe and stable environment.

Beyond providing food, the project contributed to the children’s overall well-being, supporting their physical and emotional development while offering them a consistent environment of protection, care and guidance.

As this chapter comes to a close, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting initiatives that guarantee access to adequate nutrition and a dignified environment for the most vulnerable children.

Schooling for children with visual disabilities in Uganda
With Babies Uganda Association

We have been working with Babies Uganda Association for the past five years in support of CEVIC, an educational centre specialising in the care and education of children with visual impairments in Uganda.

In a context where disability remains a taboo subject and access to specialised resources is limited, this project provides tailored education that combines Braille literacy, assistive technology and life skills training, promoting students’ independence and inclusion.

During this period, the programme will support 50 children, providing access to education, nutrition, healthcare and comprehensive care. In addition, the project encourages educational continuity, enabling some students to progress to secondary education.

Thanks to this intervention, the children develop greater independence, confidence and personal skills, significantly improving their future opportunities within a more inclusive environment.

Construction of a school in Saré Moundé, Senegal
With Gune Foundation

In 2025, we completed the project launched in partnership with the Guné Foundation to build a nursery classroom in the village of Saré Maoundé, Senegal, addressing an urgent need for educational infrastructure in a rural area with very limited resources.

The project replaced temporary classrooms built from fragile materials with a permanent concrete facility that provides a safer, more durable and more suitable environment for learning. This improvement directly benefits 160 boys and girls aged between 11 and 14 from Saré Maoundé and neighbouring villages.

Thanks to this intervention, pupils now have access to a more dignified and protected learning environment, sheltered from extreme heat and the rainy season. This has helped to improve school attendance, support educational continuity and provide better conditions for learning.

Renovation of the primary school in Diaobé, Senegal
With Gune Foundation

Our collaboration with the Guné Foundation now spans nine years of supporting educational projects in Senegal, promoting access to quality education for children living in vulnerable circumstances.

On this occasion, the project focused on the renovation of a primary school building comprising four classrooms used by more than 500 children aged between 5 and 7. The facilities, originally built in the 1990s, had suffered significant structural deterioration, compromising the safety of both pupils and teaching staff.

The refurbishment works, completed as planned, have restored a safe, accessible and suitable learning environment. Improvements included structural repairs, the installation of doors and windows, upgraded flooring and the general refurbishment of the classrooms.

This intervention builds on the work carried out in the area in previous years, strengthening the local education system while also benefiting surrounding communities.

Educational improvements in Gambasse, Guinea-Bissau
With Silo Association

Our collaboration with SILO Association now spans nine years of supporting educational and social projects in rural communities across Guinea-Bissau, one of the poorest countries in the world.

The project aims to improve conditions at Gambasse School, supporting the operation of the centre and ensuring access to quality education for more than 800 children. To achieve this, the programme contributes towards the salaries of 33 teachers, provides scholarships for pupils in vulnerable situations, and supplies school materials, books and educational resources.

In addition, the project includes the provision of refurbished computers to improve access to digital learning tools, as well as support for the local health clinic through the funding of healthcare staff salaries for several months, thereby strengthening access to medical care within the community.

Maternal and baby nutrition programme in Mozambique
With IBO Foundation

Our collaboration with the IBO Foundation now marks four years of supporting programmes to combat child malnutrition in the Ibo region of Mozambique, an area particularly affected by food insecurity and population displacement.

The project aims to prevent, identify and treat malnutrition among children under the age of five, addressing both its causes and consequences through a comprehensive approach that combines nutritional care, medical monitoring and community education.

During this period, the programme will support 350 children through a nutritional treatment based on locally sourced products, complemented by workshops for mothers on nutrition, hygiene and health.

As a new development this year, the project includes funding for a local nutritionist, a key role in ensuring the monitoring, continuity and effectiveness of the programme, thereby strengthening its long-term impact and sustainability within the community.

No more cataracts for kids programme
With Elena Barraquer Foundation

Our collaboration with the Elena Barraquer Foundation continues for another year through support for the #NoMoreCataracts4Kids programme, an initiative that aims to restore sight to children with cataracts in Africa and Latin America, directly improving their quality of life and future opportunities.

If left untreated, childhood cataracts can lead to irreversible blindness, hindering children’s development and preventing them from accessing education. However, with timely surgical intervention, sight can be restored, completely transforming their lives.

The project plans to perform 125 cataract surgeries on children aged between 5 and 16 over an eight-month period, through specialised surgical expeditions that enable diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care in resource-limited settings.

Beyond the medical intervention itself, the programme’s impact also extends to families and communities, promoting children’s independence and enabling them to continue their educational and social development.
